Options comparison sheet — a LAMP primer-design demonstration
This guide helps with recording software inputs and outputs without assessing clinical suitability. Use it as a personal worksheet; confirm activity details directly with the organiser.
How to use these notes
Set criteria before looking at results so the choice is not justified after the decision. Use the same categories for every alternative and distinguish missing values from zero.
Information for this activity
- software version and date of use
- input filename and its units
- settings changed during the demonstration
Procedure
- Choose three criteria directly related to the need and explain each criterion.
- Record each alternative using consistent units and dates where possible.
- Mark trade-offs, uncertainty and conditions that could change the choice. Do not add categories with different units.
Worked example
If option A has complete information while option B has one unanswered question, the result is “more information needed”, not automatically “B is worse”.
Copyable format
Alternative | Criterion | Value or note | Source | Uncertainty
Final check
Before sharing the notes, recheck software version and date of use, input filename and its units, settings changed during the demonstration. Remove unnecessary personal information and flag answers that are not yet confirmed.
